What Exactly Does "Sustainable Green Technology" Entail?

To the uninitiated, "sustainable green technology" may sound like one of those "buzz words" that environmentalists love to use, but it's fair to wonder if they really get what it means. There is little misunderstanding about the word "technology," and "green" is easily understood in this setting; but, "sustainable green" may leave some readers scratching their heads. Is this some sort of technology developed to keep things environmentally friendly? We need to dissect the situation to be sure, but it's possible. The term "sustainable green technology" refers to any Sustainable Green Chemistry method used to maintain the status quo of the environment. This is accomplished primarily through the employment of energy production methods that (1) do not deplete environmental resources and (2) have minimal to no negative effects on the surrounding ecosystem.
